Coding

This term as part of homework and Science students have been given access to Code.org.Tthis is an online program that is designed to extend students understanding of computational thinking. 

Students can access this website through the link on the right hand column of the blog, in the 'Important Links' tab. There you will find your child's name, click on their name and select their secret picture. From there you will find Course 1. Students are welcome to work through this course at their own pace, we will be spending some time in the computer labs as well to work through it. 

We are very excited to work with the Ozobots and learn how to code them to complete mazes.

World of Maths

Year 1 and 2 participated in a Maths problem solving incursion last week. The World of Maths is a company that visits schools across Australia to provide hands on displays and problem solving activities that students have to work together as a group to solve. It was a great activity and it was so good to see students working together to solve problems.

PE - Athletics

This term year 1-6 will be participating in a Little Athletics Program (LAPS) on Wednesdays during PE. 

The LAPS program is designed to teach students specific skills in areas that they will be competing in during the athletics carnival. 1/2F have had a try and Shot put and Sprinting so far. We are looking forward to the next few weeks and what else we will learn :-)

Our first Cross Country

Year 2 participated in their first cross country race last week! Some of them loved it, some vowed to never do it again. :-) They weren't too impressed I told them they had to do it every year!

Everyone ran a great race and made a huge effort! Well done guys!!

Anzac Day

What a wonderful way to start the term. A fantastic ANZAC presentation by Mr and Mrs Bird.

Mr Bird has been collecting his memorabilia for many years. He comes to visit us every year to share his collection with us. He generously allows students to try on his gear and tells them all about each item. 

The children absolutely love it!
